This event takes place on Thursday April 16th at the Comfort Inn Conference Center here in Mount Pleasant. You don't want to be late and miss out on any of the Red Carpet events. 2009 Print Competition and State Convention

At the beginning of February, our studio attended the 68th annual Professional Photographers of Michigan State Convention. The convention was held in Lansing and not only did we enter prints in competition, but we also attended many programs as well. Attending programs is an awesome way for us to see what other studios are doing and it helps us give our clients the newest and latest trends in photography.

Dan earned the Blue Ribbon award of Excellence on five of his photographs placing him within the top seven for the Michigan Photographer of the year award. He also received the “2009 Best of Show Portrait Award.” This is an award given to the judges favorite portrait print entered at competition.

Kelli, entering for her first time, earned the Blue Ribbon award of Excellence for her print “A Silent Moment” which also earned her the Highest First Time Entry Award. She received a red ribbon award on her other three prints entered.

Catherine, also entering for her first time, received the red ribbon award on all four of her photographs entered.

All of the portraits will be on display in downtown Mt. Pleasant during the month of March.

Wedding planning is in season and full force. Recently we attended the Bridal World bridal show in Lansing. This was our first time at this show. That's right, Kelli got a new purse!! Kelli's bag is the Christine and it features black leather trim and plaid print on the gussett. The images on her purse are of her husband Christopher (aka Elmo, you may have seen him at Max & Emily's) and her dog Cola. We now have an Ipod compatible camera room.

If you do not own an Ipod don't fret you can bring in your own Cd's to listen to also.

Listening to your own music is a great way to calm the nerves.

The kids love to listen to their favorite songs as well.

We did purchase Alvin & The Chipmunks Soundtrack, as well as

Hannah Montana meets Miley Cyrus.

These two CDs have been a HUGE hit with the kids.

So make sure to bring your Ipod or favorite CDs for your next session!!!

Senior Forum

Recently, we had our first senior discussion forum. We invited several Juniors, at random, from a variety of schools. We wanted to give the Class of 2009 an opportunity to voice their opinion on senior portraits. By doing this, we were able to learn what is important to our upcoming senior clients. They gave us many great ideas on backgrounds, marketing, products, and pricing. After all, knowing what are clients want is extremely important to us!!!

Of course, it wasn't all work. There was food, fun, and laughs!

After four long weeks of waiting and driving Russ (the UPS man) CRAZY!

It is finally here.

Bunny Fever!!!

Our live bunny special was a hit!!!

Our special started out as a one day only event.

However due to its popular demand we extended the special to last three days.

Some of the kids needed a little warming up,

however once they saw the bunnies they wanted to stay and play.

Many asked if they could take the bunnies home with them.

We even had some of the children name the bunnies

some of the names included Oreo, Hoppy, and Herbert Nininger.

This year we had the best bunnies yet, which helps make our special go smooth.

We would like to thank Pam Travis for handling her bunnies ahead of time.

The extra handling helps them get used to all the attention.

Danny goes to Camp!!!

Hey, did you hear Dan is going to try out for the majors!

Just Kidding, He went to fantasy camp.

This was the third year Dan had the opportunity to live out his childhood dream.

Of course we still had to put him to work while he was on vacation, Dan photographed action shots as well as team photos for the players.

Dan had a great time and is already counting down the days to next year.

Professional Photographers of Michigan Convention

This past weekend we attended the Professional Photographer's of Michigan Convention. We attended many classes to learn new trends in photography to better serve our clients. Dan competed against the finest portrait photographers in the state. Earning a Blue ribbon Award of exellence on four of his prints, placing him second for the Michigan Photographer of the Year.
